The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya is a well-known Technical University in Barcelona. The Distributed Multimedia Applications Group (DMAG) of the Information Modeling & Processing (IMP) Research Group of the UPC is participating in the MedSecurance project, contributing its experience in security, privacy, ontologies and standardization. The UPC team is working in two main tools.

The first one is an ontology covering knowledge of requirements taken from international specifications. A new methodology has been developed for this purpose, resulting in a flexible and reusable ontology available for different uses, aiming at guaranteeing the assurance of secure and safe eHealth environments.

The second tool is related to the generation and use of contracts that formalize the agreements between device developers and users, from a security level definition point of view.

Currently, the tool is being developed in an extensible way. Standard signature mechanisms are also incorporated. Contribution to international standardization is going on in the context of these activities.
