The Hospital Garcia de Orta (HGO), from Unidade Local de Saúde de Almada-Seixal (ULSAS), is a partner in the European MedSecurance project, serving as a case study for small medical devices in this international consortium funded by the European Commission, through the Horizon Europe Programme, aimed at strengthening the safety and cybersecurity of connected medical devices.
Participation has been characterised by close collaboration with consortium partners, including the hosting of scientific and technical meetings and working visits held in Portugal.
These activities have enabled partners to gain direct insight into the clinical, organisational and technological HGO’s context, as well as to discuss practical challenges related to the safe integration and use of connected medical devices in healthcare settings.
The working sessions, both in person and online, have supported the alignment of the solutions under development with the real needs of healthcare services.
MedSecurance participation reflects ULSAS’s commitment to responsible innovation, patient safety and European collaboration, contributing to raising awareness among healthcare institutions of cybersecurity best practices in line with national and international guidelines, with published scientific output.
