STAB VIDA is a Portuguese SME in biotechnology, founded in 2000. With fully equipped
laboratories certified by ISO9001:2015 and a team with over 20 years of experience in
genetics and genomics, particularly in PCR and nucleic acid sequencing technologies, the
company provides an exclusive range of products and services and operates commercially
across several regions.
Building on this experience, we developed Doctor Vida: a portable, handheld device
capable of detecting viral genetic biomarkers through isothermal nucleic acid amplification.
Its compact size and smartphone integration make it ideal for clinical and point-of-care
settings. But with portability comes a challenge: cybersecurity.
As a partner in the MedSecurance project, STAB VIDA is working to ensure that Doctor
Vida is not only innovative - but also secure.
With the MedSecurance toolbox, we aim to:
✔️ Use the IoMT Model-Based Engineering Tool to guide the development of Doctor
Vida, ensuring that cybersecurity requirements are embedded from the earliest design
stages;
✔️ Apply the Threat Vulnerability Risk Analysis Toolkit to conduct comprehensive risk
assessments of Doctor Vida, identifying potential vulnerabilities and threats that may
compromise patient safety or data integrity;
✔️ Leverage the Ontology-based Knowledge Repository and the Assurance Tool to
provide standardized assessments and documentation, ensuring Doctor Vida meets
regulatory and compliance requirements;
✔️ Adopt the Security-level Contract Tool and the IoMT Communication
Recommendation Tool to ensure a secure integration with medical systems, allowing a
seamless integration of Doctor Vida with various Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and
supporting more efficient clinical workflows.
For STAB VIDA, cybersecurity is not just a requirement - it’s an essential pillar for safe,
reliable, and trustworthy medical innovation.
